Germany, the great motorcycle country, where fantastic roads go hand in hand with great beer and good rustic cuisine. No matter what country you crossover from, Germany is a big mouthful when it comes to motorcycle holidays. All of the 16 German federal states each have something different to offer.

The country shares borders with Denmark in the north, France, Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands to the west. Switzerland and Austria to the South and the Czech Republic and Poland to the east. Even though Germany shares borders with many exciting countries, it shouldn’t ever be considered a transit country.

With its central location, Germany has had a profound influence on European history. It’s very fulfilling to go exploring in Germany. Metropoli like Berlin, Munich and Hamburg are innovative and creative cities in a modern world, where there is something for everyone. The most populous country in Europe clearly has a lot to offer. In 1990, the country was unified once more, and the former DDR was combined into the Federal Republic of Germany, adding five East German states to the federation.

On the German Autobahn, you’ll experience a traffic culture second to none. Small roads are easy to reach from anywhere in this great country. Roads where you’ll only see fields, woods, hills and castles. After a day of rolling along the Autobahn, it is a fantastic feeling to be able to get away from traffic for a bit. It’s always great to experience the little inns and hotels, that are dotted across the Autobahn road network. Then, there are the German festivals, where joie de vivre, and quaint rural cuisine come together, in one big party. Germany should be eaten, consumed and ridden across.
