Recently, I was invited to an auction of vintage motorcycles and motorcycle parts, being held by some good friends of mine, Lau and Kasper from MOTORIOUS, in the back yard of their vintage and custom apparel shop, located in the raw and pulsating borough of Vesterbro, Copenhagen.

Some of the items on auction were very interesting, and ranged from a '65 Ural motorcycle and sidecar, to vintage engine components, and even an unopened bottle containing some kind of of snake-spirit-aphrodisiac, guaranteed to help you tame The Medusa, before she can turn you to stone. If you want to, that is... Anyway, I never got the full story behind that bottle of potent snake juice, but as the guys said themselves,
"Many great and interesting auction items ensured a great interest for bidding on other weird stuff."

Among the others that made an appearance at the auction, were Allan from KillerBobbers.dk, custom builder James Roper-Caldbeck from Customs From Jamesville, some of the guys from Wrenchmonkees on some of their innovative Café Racers and creative crossovers, the artist Cay Brøndum, and Jesper Bram from Pinstriping.dk, who occupied one end of the courtyard, where you could get everything from helmets to motorcycles pinstriped by Jesper.
Over the course of the day, around 300 people from all corners of the Copenhagen Custom and Vintage scene turned up, bought some parts, clothing, accessories, helmets, engine oils and ointments, ornaments and other cool stuff, and effectively helped drain the many beer kegs supplied by the Krenkerup Brewery from Sakskøbing. All in all, a really nice afternoon, evening and night, in a warm atmosphere, with some cool beers and great people, surrounded by hand-built vintage motorcycles. What more do you need?
MOTORIOUS is located in the borough of Vesterbro in Copenhagen, Denmark, and you should really check it out when you get the chance. To quote the guys from MOTORIOUS, "The shop is an adventurous pile of stuff, from vintage motorcycle parts, obscure accessories and the junk you didn't know you needed." They also stock a very fine selection of hand picked clothing brands, regular workwear and riding wear, which will last for many miles on the open road.
Every so often, they introduce new, quality brands and clothing lines, so there's something new moving through the shop, all the time. Some of the latest to hit the shelves, were clothing tasters from the new Wrenchmonkees WM Apparel Collection, which looks both durable and practical, and I think I might have to get my hands on some of it, when it's realeased for sale, later in the year.
Motorious are always looking for a good bargain, so if you're sitting on your great grandfathers stash of old motorcycle parts from the good old days, then let them know, so they can find a new owner for it. They're also interested in other vintage stuff like leather riding gear, store signs, pins, emblems, rare magazines etc - whatever's out there. Also, if you're looking for something specific, let them know, and they might be able to source it for you. Just send them a mail at
